Rochdale Boroughwide Housing (RBH), one of Rochdale’s largest employers, is launching its annual apprenticeship recruitment campaign on Friday 24 May 2019. RBH has a strong history of recruiting trade apprentices and trainees across its business areas and, as an anchor member of Rochdale Stronger Together, is committed to promoting work and skills opportunities locally and to increasing the economic prosperity of residents across the Borough.

This year RBH is offering a broader range of apprenticeship opportunities. The aim is to help local people access higher level apprenticeship opportunities within specialist areas with potential to develop successful careers with RBH over the longer term. Vacancies will be available across the organisation with successful candidates undertaking qualifications at levels 2 – 4.

  • Electrical apprenticeship x 2 
  • Plastering apprenticeship x 1
  • Housing accommodation (Homechoice) assistant apprenticeship x 1
  • Independent Living Scheme apprenticeship x 1  
  • Housing Options for Older People Apprentice x 1  
  • Procurement Assistant Apprentice x 1
  • Debt and Welfare Assistant Apprentice x 1

RBH welcomes applications from people of all ages and backgrounds. Applications from RBH tenants and Rochdale residents are encouraged, with Rochdale residents guaranteed an interview if they meet the specified criteria.

Successful candidates joining RBH will receive ongoing employer support and are funded to complete their qualification with an appropriate training provider. As a Real Living Wage employer, RBH is committed to ensuring all its employees, including apprentices, receive a fair wage. All apprentices receive £9 an hour (approximately £17,000 per year), study release time, 24 days annual leave and employer pension contributions.
